Diwali is the festival of lights. It is one of the biggest and most significant festivals of the year, a time to rejoice in the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance. Diwali celebrations include prayer, feasts, fireworks, time spent with family and philanthropic giving.
On October 16, 2022, the Dwarika Memorial Charitable Trust celebrated Diwali by honouring women who are employed as domestic workers in Pune. The members of the Trust distributed 19 dry ration kits, boxes of candies and some home furnishing items to each worker. A two-month supply of flour, lentils, rice, spices, sugar, oil, and other cooking essentials was included in each ration kit.

Domestic workers are often undervalued despite their impact in the workforce. Because they are such an important part our daily lives, we were pleased to support them with gifts during the Diwali festival. May their lives be filled with love, light and happiness.
